Midweek Eats??

Hello all... I wish that I had some delicious things to share today, but unfortunately my house was broken into yesterday evening and my laptop, amongst other important items were stolen.

That being said, I will be out of commission for a few days. I'm hoping to be back by Monday, for 'Monday Funday', so please come back and visit us then.

This week a friend and I made it over to the West Midtown area to try out Westside Pie (and to use their free wifi). It’s located in the retail space directly below the apartments of Apex West midtown. This pizza joint has only been open for a few months and is owned by the duo that runs Slice downtown.

What’s for Dinner?? Baked Tilapia and Asparagus…

Happy Friday good people!

 

I thought I would share another quick meal with you . I got home at about 930pm the other night and was starving, as usual. After a quick scan of the fridge, freezer and pantry, I decided on Tilapia and Asparagus. I had planned on using the Tilapia to make fish tacos, but was in no mood to chop, dice and search the refrigerator for all the components I wanted on my tacos.... so, quick and easy baked Tilapia won.

Midweek eats: Scoutmob and Seafood

Ahh Scoutmob, the very cool local deal wizard that allows us to eat out continuously and not feel too bad about spending too much money. I don’t know about you all, but one of the first things I do in the morning is search my blackberry for the Scoutmob email to see who’s gonna give me 50% off this week.

Coast Seafood and Raw Bar was the latest winner.

I finally made my way over to Grindhouse to experience their Killer burgers. I’ve driven past their Piedmont location on numerous occasions, especially since it’s across the street from Fat Matt’s (one of my big time favs).

Midweek eats: Crispy Baked Chicken Wings

Today, I have for you a spin on a classic; Chicken Wings. They are usually fried and covered in some type of finger licking sauce (which I love by the way), but in an effort to be a tad more health conscious I have taken to baking them.

What’s for dinner?? Street Meat...

We finally made it to Food Truck Wednesday in the Highlands and got to try some infamous ‘Street Meat’. I have to say I really enjoyed the whole scene. People out in the sun roaming from truck to truck, finding empty spots on the concrete to sit and chat while they ate. It really was a lot of fun.

All the usual suspects were out and we got the chance to dabble around with, Yumbii, Slider U,  Just Loaf'N Po'Boys and Honeysuckle Gelato.

Midweek Eats…Barbecue!

I’d love to say that my first meal back eating solid food after being sick(other than lime flavored popsicles) was a delish gourmet home cooked meal, but it wasn’t. I was craving barbecue, so I ventured to Fat Matt's Rib Shack…. let the gluttony commence.
